Many ConnectShip product features are enabled by the loading of a Progistics license key. The license key represents those features that have been purchased as part of your system. ConnectShip products are initially installed on new systems with a default license key, which is configured to enable access to the basic features of the product. Because these default license keys expire, customers who do not purchase a software license and load a non-expiring license key that is specific to the features purchased, will find that the software will cease to function as of the expiration date of the default license.
The purpose of this site is to allow you to view your current license information and to load license keys into your ConnectShip software.
License keys are loaded from ConnectShip servers, based on data maintained by ConnectShip. If the features associated with the license you load are not the features you expected, please contact ConnectShip Technical Support for assistance.
Only one Progistics license key can be installed on a particular server. Loading of subsequent license keys on a server will overwrite the features enabled by previous license keys.
Because license keys are loaded from ConnectShip servers, Internet access is required in order to license your ConnectShip product. If your Internet connection requires access through a firewall or proxy server, the additional information below may be used to configure your ConnectShip software to enable loading of the license.
As stated above, every method for licensing Progistics requires that the machine being licensed has Internet access to progistics.connectship.com. If the Internet connection uses an HTTP/HTTPS proxy, you must configure the Progistics HTTP Proxy settings before you will be able to license. To do this, use the Internet Settings page included with your ConnectShip product configuration pages to enter the settings for the Progistics HTTP Proxy Configuration.
There are several possible methods for loading Progistics license information which are described below. They all require a License ID and Password and they all yield the same results. They differ in how and where the load is initiated. No one method is preferred so you can choose the scheme that best suits your environment. If you have questions regarding this process or need your License ID and/or Password, please contact ConnectShip Technical Support for assistance.
The License/Version Info page included with your ConnectShip product configuration pages will load license information on the server on which you installed Progistics. Since the load is actually executed on the server, this scheme allows you to initiate the load from any browser that has access to the product configuration pages. This method is only available if you are using the ConnectShip supplied configuration pages and if your web server has Internet access to progistics.connectship.com.
LicenseProgistics.bat is batch file that is included with Progistics. Therefore, it can only be used from the machine on which Progistics was installed. Explore to LicenseProgistics.bat, located in Progistics\Bin, and open it or simply run LicenseProgistics from the command line. It will prompt for a License ID and Password and load your license. LicenseProgistics.bat can only license the local machine (i.e. the machine on which it is executed). The local machine must have Internet access to progistics.connectship.com. This scheme does not involve the browser or web server in any way.
You can also load a Progistics license from your own custom client. The process of loading a license is very simple. Any environment capable of accessing Microsoft COM or .NET programming interfaces can do it. See the documentation for ITDCLicenseInfo::Load in the Transportation Toolkit SDK for details. See LicenseProgistics.vbs, a VBScript that is included with Progistics, for an example. It is located in Progistics\Bin.
